Last year, GlaxoSmithKline sold Lucozade and Ribena to Japanese food manufacturer Suntory for £1.3bn.
UK businesses Cadbury, Weetabix, Branston Pickle and New Covent Garden have all also been sold to overseas players in the last few years.
