Dairy ingredients maker in New Zealand yogurt deal

Yogurt mixes: it will be the first time EasiYo has been made outside New Zealand

A Staffordshire-based ingredients supplier is to manufacture a range of natural yogurt mixes from New Zealand following a £700,000 joint investment.

Ornua Nutrition Ingredients (ONI) will blend and pack Irish dairy powders into the EasiYo flavoured yogurt mixes from a new purpose-built production facility at its Leek headquarters.

Serving the UK and European markets, it will be the first time EasiYo has been produced outside of New Zealand.

High-speed packing lines

The new blending facility, which includes high-speed sachet packing lines, has been supported by a £97,000 Regional Growth Fund grant from Stoke-on-Trent City Council. It will result in the creation of 20 new jobs.

ONI is a subsidiary of Irish agri-food co-operative Ornua.
