A concord grape juice powder made from a dehydration process that is claimed to remove all the juice’s water while remaining its flavour and colour debuted at Chicago’s IFT show in July.

FruitWorx Concord Grape Juice Powder is said to be a free-flowing, soluble, low water activity powder, ideal for adding a “unique and compelling twist” to a host of food categories, including confectionery, dairy products, baked goods, snacks, dry beverages, seasoning blends and nutraceuticals.

Natural fruit sugars

Producer Welch’s Global Ingredients Group (WGIG) said the powder is made from natural fruit sugars, is free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, and is non-genetically modified.

In addition, it delivers the same kind of polyphenols found in Welch’s 100% Grape Juice.

‘Goodness of the concord grape’

Wayne Lutomski, vice president of international and global ingredients at WGIG, said: “FruitWorx Concord Grape Juice Powder offers our customers a convenient way to bring the goodness of the concord grape to a very wide range of applications – many of which are completely new categories for us.”
