The long wait to discover the winners of this year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs) is nearly over, with the gala awards evening set for Wednesday November 2 at The Hilton Park Lane, London.

Now in their 16th year, the FMEAs celebrate the best of the best in British food and drink manufacturing. This year, 60-plus manufacturing firms, organisations and individuals are vying for one of the glittering prizes.

Among this year’s contenders are: Weetabix, Premier Foods, Coca-Cola European Partners among many other manufacturing businesses. From the category entries will be selected the overall Food Manufacture Excellence Company of the year. Last year Moy Park triumphed.

But which business will win this year? Be among the first to learn the identity of the winner by reserving your place at the gala awards celebration on Wednesday evening.

The company awards will be made according to the results of an independent judging process chaired by Paul Wilkinson, chairman of the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink. Entries were judged across a range of criteria including: new product development, category management, quality assurance, and process innovation.

Young talent of the year

Individual categories in the 2016 FMEAs include the Food Manufacture Personality of the year, Young talent of the year award and the inaugural presentation of the Me & my factory – editor’s choice award. This new food and drink manufacturing Oscar will be awarded to the factory manager featured in our sister title Food Manufacture’s flagship feature series.

So, good luck to all the finalists. The winners will receive their trophies at the Venice-themed awards celebration hosted by TV star Carol Smillie.
