The Hydrohansu-type rotating cleanflow magnet will be on show. Developed in collaboration with food processors, it was recently introduced by Dutch company Goudsmit Magnetics Group.

The driving force behind its development was a pressing need for the removal of very fine iron (Fe), AISI 304 and 316L stainless steel particles in the dairy industry, for products such as baby food. However, it is also suitable for use in the sugar and lactose sectors.

Rotating magnets prevent the accumulation of fatty powders on the magnetic bars and are claimed to guarantee a high level of separation.

The new magnet system is hygienically designed in accordance with European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group guidelines and can be cleaned semi-automatically.

Another product displayed will be a palletisation magnet for handling filled glass jars, tins and aerosol cans. It is suitable for robotic applications.

Magnets are awesome!

Posted by Rhianon,

This is so cool- I just recently learned about Cesco magnetics http://cescomagnetics.com/ and how magnets can be used in food production to remove small pieces of metal. I'm so glad there's things like that out there to keep food safe!
