Former Tesco group brand director Carolyn Bradley and former Tesco group HR director Catherine Glickman are to join the board of brewer and pub business Marston’s as independent non-executive directors.

Bradley would join Marston’s on October 1 and Glickman on December 1, said the firm. Glickman will also be a member of its remuneration committee.

Bradley was group brand director at Tesco from 2012 to 2013. She joined the retailer in 1986 and held a number of other senior positions including chief operations officer for Tesco.com, commercial director for Tesco Stores and Tesco UK marketing director.

Major marketing initiatives

She led the teams responsible for major marketing initiatives including the ‘Every Little Helps’ campaign and the launch of the Tesco Clubcard. She was a Trustee of the DrinkAware Trust until 2013.

Glickman is currently also group HR director at Genus. She was group HR director at Tesco from 2009 to 2012, having joined in 1991. She led retail management development and customer service training during a period of significant expansion in the UK and overseas and previously gained experience in branded retail at Somerfield and Boots.

“… Both Carolyn and Catherine … will bring valuable marketing and HR experiences from different businesses and both have had successful careers in a leading retail consumer-facing business,” said Marston’s chairman Roger Devlin. “These skills will be of great benefit to Marston’s as we seek to expand our own business in branded pub-restaurants and brewing.”
