Undeclared allergens sparked recalls at Tesco, Lindt and Kenrow

A number of food recalls have been sparked by undeclared allergens this month, covered in this photogallery.

Tesco was forced to recall its Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein due to undeclared egg, milk and mustard, while Lindt & Sprüngli recalled two Easter chocolate eggs due to undeclared barley.

Also featured in this gallery are recalls by Seasalt Cornwall, Kenrow Chocolate and Best Fresh.

Consumers who have bought these products were advised not to eat them and instead return them to the store they bought them from – or their nearest store – for a refund.

For advice on how to avoid falling foul of costly allergen recalls, sign up for the Food Manufacture Safety Conference – Food Safety 2020: preparing your business for change – at Woodland Grange, Leamington Spa on June 22.

Meanwhile, Quorn recalled its Meat Free Mince this month (March 2), over fears it might contain pieces of metal.
