Food and drink firms named in top exporters’ list

Food and drink exporters were recognised for their export success in the International Track 200 list

Food and drink manufacturers were recognised in a list of the top 200 UK businesses with the fastest growing international sales, featured in this photogallery.

The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 list ranked the export success of British businesses.

Topping the list of food and drink manufacturers in this year’s International 200 was baked goods manufacturer Carrs Foods International, entering at position seven.

Also featured in this year’s list was soup manufacturer Baxters, natural food and drink producer 3V Natural Foods and cheesemaker Dairy Partners.

Companies featured on this year’s International Track 200 had to meet certain criteria to be featured on the list of the top businesses.

Meet certain criteria

Firms on the list must have had total sales of at least £25M a year, with minimum international sales of £1M a year.

At least 5% of the companies’ annual sales had to be to international buyers in their latest year, either 2016, 2017 or 2018.

The food and drink manufacturers on this year’s list employed a combined total of 4,135 staff and combined export sales of £294.7M

Topping this year’s list was aircraft spares and repairs business AerFin with a two-year international sales growth of 663.9%. International sales for the company reached £52.7M last year.

Meanwhile, boosting exports is aim of a one-day conference to take place on October 5 at the Ardencote Hotel, Warwick, organised by the Food Manufacture Group and sister titles British Baker and Meat Trades Journal. Please register your interest in attending here.

At last!

After more than 25 years in international consumer goods sales and only a year after Brexit, I am witnessing widespread praise and recognition for the hard earned export success of the our largest manufacturing industry. How heartwarming. I wonder if Brexit has acted as a catalyst or is that too simplistic? Who cares; it's great news and long may it continue. Well done all of you!
