Premier Foods has appointed Jette Andersen, to spearhead the manufacturer’s growth in the key markets of North America and Australasia.
Following the departure of Peter Ellis, Andersen takes up the role of md of Premier Foods’s International Business Unit.
She will report to ceo Gavin Darby and will join the executive leadership team. Her place on the team was said to reflect “the increasing importance of international markets to the company’s growth strategy”.
Commenting on Jette’s appointment, Darby said: “Growing our brands in key international markets, such as North America and Australasia, is a key part of our growth strategy.
“Over the last year we’ve been strengthening our international team, and I’m delighted that Jette has joined us at this critical time. Her experience will be invaluable as we seek to expand into new markets.”
Andersen previously held senior positions in the food and drink sector and has built wide experience in international markets during the past 20 years. The new md joined Premier from Orangina Schweppes International (OSI), a division of Suntory Food & Beverage Europe.
Most recently, Andersen was general manager north Europe, French Territories, Caribbean and North America leading the development of OSI’s business in 40 markets. She also played a key role in the integration of Lucozade and Ribena into the international business following Suntory’s acquisition of the brands in 2014.
