Nottingham Trent University team Från Början’s vegan chilled chocolate dessert – that replaced dairy protein with algal protein – wowed the judges, netting the students the grand prize of £2,000.
The team will go on to represent the UK at the European Ecotrophelia finals, which take place during the Sial food show in Paris from October 16 to 20, with a chance to win up to €6,000.
