CCE boosts efficiency without investment
Coca-Cola Enterprises’ Milton Keynes plant director Nicholas Nixon told us he wouldn’t let the age of the site – which was built five years before he was born – prevent him from boosting efficiency.
Nixon has managed to boost production line efficiency by 50% in the past 12 months without relying on investment at the factory.
He’s achieved this through improving overall equipment effectiveness, switching to shorter production runs, using skilled on-site engineers and moving staff to a continental shift pattern.
Efficiency has also grown by 3% as a result of forward risk analysis preventing costly errors, Nixon said.
The site, which will turn 40 next year, manufactures CCE’s Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Diet Coke, Coke Life, Dr Pepper, Lilt, Fanta, Appletiser, 5Alive, Relentless, Monster and Capri-Sun.
