Samworth Brothers buys Soreen
Samworth Brothers’ acquisition of malt loaf firm Soreen for an indisclosed fee was the third most read story of the year.
The sale of Soreen by the McCambridge Group to Gibbs Croft, part of Samworth Brothers, took place in the first week of February.
In a statement, the company said: “Gibbs Croft Limited has acquired Soreen from the McCambridge Group.
“Soreen’s Malt Loaf range has earned the trust and loyalty of UK consumers since 1939. The company’s product range has also developed in recent years to include new flavours plus other ‘food to go’ and breakfast products.”
The story not only interested FoodManufacture.co.uk readers, but pleased the staff at the Manchester-based firm, who were said to be pleased with the deal.
