Dragons see worthy investment
Proving an appetite for food, Peter Jones again ploughed money into a food entrepreneur, with an investment in Preston free-from dessert manufacturer Worthenshaws.
Jones invested £65,000 – along with Duncan Bannatynne – for a 30% share in the business.
They were won over by single mother Kirsty Henshaw’s passion, commitment and determination to the business.
Henshaw entered the Den having already opened up negotiations to stock her products in 400 Tesco stores.
She has since outsourced manufacturing to R&R Ice Cream to boost production and increase turnover.
The company has since changed its name to Kirsty’s and started manufacturing free-from savoury meals.
The meals are stocked in retailers including Sainsbury, Asda, Waitrose and Budgens.
