Egg mayonnaise sandwich recalled for containing egg
Northern retailer Booths has been forced to recall its free range egg mayonnaise sandwiches, because they contain eggs.
The packaging for the sandwiches was incorrect, stating the ingredients for a Lancashire cheese sandwiches instead.
The products also contained mustard, which was not mentioned in the ingredients list. The sandwiches could pose a risk to anyone with an allergy to eggs or mustard.
Booths advised customers who had bought the products not to eat them and to return them to the store they bought them from for a full refund.
The recall applied to egg mayonnaise sandwiches with a use by date on January 5 2017.
