Extended use by dates force recall
A batch of Spar’s egg mayonnaise sandwich filler has been recalled, after it was found the use-by date on the packaging had been extended.
The sandwich filler had a use by date of January 17, when the product should have had a use-by date of January 2. The recall affected 220g pack sizes of the product.
The Food Standards Agency said that eating the product after its intended use by date could pose a risk of food poisoning.
Spar advised consumers who bought the filler to return it to a Spar store for a full refund.
